PM Hun Manet to Participate in the 54th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos, Switzerland

Phnom Penh Cambodia — Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia is set to lead a high-level delegation to the 54th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on January 16-17, 2024. This visit comes at the invitation of Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum.

Centered on the theme of "Rebuilding Trust," the meeting will concentrate on principles such as transparency, consistency, and accountability. It will bring together world leaders, top corporate executives, heads of major international organizations, civil society and youth representatives, social entrepreneurs, and media leaders, fostering a collaborative platform for addressing global challenges.

Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife, First Lady Pich Chanmony, will lead a delegation to the event. Joining them will be Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul, and other senior government officials. The delegation will also include prominent business leaders from the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce.

A highlight of the Prime Minister's agenda is his scheduled speech at an informal lunch for world economic leaders. He will discuss strategies for restoring faith in the global system, emphasizing win-win approaches to address global concerns, and advocating for peaceful engagement and dialogue.

In addition to the main event, the Prime Minister is expected to hold meetings on the sidelines of the forum. These include discussions with Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), as well as interactions with executives from leading global companies. These meetings aim to attract investments to Cambodia, bolstering its economic growth and international partnerships.
